Are you ready to believe again?

Vote for me as President of Red Sox Nation!

Okay, Sam, the pressure’s on. Just how will you expand the connections between the players and the fans? What kind of community programs will you encourage? You’ve got a great song and an incredible personality. I love it. But whenever a candidate comes to my doorstep for any election, they have to explain what action they will take before they will get my vote. I know you’re taking this seriously, so please expound on your exact plans. I’m listening…

Welcome to the MLBlogosphere, Sam! Glad to have you here, and hope you will keep a blog here long after the election (and season) is over. Good luck and just shout if you need anything re MLBlogs.

Sounds like a lot of phony political gum flapping to me. Sam Horn hasn’t played for the Sox in 20 years and he’s having a hard time letting go of his pseudo-fame. He wasn’t even that great when he was playing, lifetime average of .240, big deal!! He had no personality when he was broadcasting on NESN. Why run for president anyway? I’m sure he must get into the games for free so the prize package is useless for him. Sounds like a desperate attempt for attention that he probably doesn’t get at home. Get a life Sam and let the true Red Sox fans run for president!

I think wecollect is being too tough on Sam, but I would like an answer to some of my questions. C’mon, Sam, let’s blog.

I don’t think “wecollect” should comment on Sam Horn if he does not know him. Sam is a great guy and RedSox Nation would be lucky to have him for president. I know him and he is a geat guy and has a great baseball school. He is the perfect person for president. Has “wecollect” ever played baseball for a professional team-I doubt it so I think he or she should keep their nasty comments to themselves. We don’t need people like that to be part of REDSOX NATION.

Right on, we collect! Dump the celebrities and let the fans actually choose the President. No wonder why the sox wouldn’t release the vote totals, do you think some of these people got ANY votes?

Give Sam a chance. So Sam, give us something we can hang our hats on…Please…

Sam,

Congratulations on making it through to the top 10.

Now — I would like to see you step to the plate and I’m challenging you to answer some of the issues that came up in MY campaign.

They’re hot issues — and in August and part of September I was meeting people and asking for their opinions. I am skipping the 10-20 games back to free local TV issue, but I have others… if you’re a fan and want the fans’ votes, please, step up and take a few licks at these…

1) Do you have any plans or ideas to make more game tickets available to fans, or any suggestions that the Sox ownership could carry out?

2) Have you looked into the current legislation on Beacon Hill concerning re-selling of tickets? What is your stance? Also, what of the StubHub-MLB alliance? Should the Sox enter into it?

3) Do you have any ideas as to how Red Sox Nation can be united not just socially, but for philanthropic purposes?

Greg

Dear Sam,
Rob Crawford here, a fellow finalist for president and the guy who wrote and recorded the Red Sox Nation song. I saw your campaign ad this morning on NESN Sportsdesk at about 7:00am. I thought it was fantastic. Good luck to you in your campaign and see you Wednesday night.

Sam Horn would make an excellent Pres. of RSN. He was v. good at commentating and has the enthusiasm, knowledge and respect for the team and the game of baseball. Oh and “wecollect…” what was your batting average in your mlb career?
